II/ Game’s rules, rugby’s field, the position of the players on the field
a)The foot game :
A player is allowed to kick the ball with his foot. He can clear it out of play to put danger far from his half or to come closes to the opponent’s goal line.
He can also try an up and under ; this means kick the ball very high and run after it to catch it before your opponent.
b)The scrum :
Decided by the referee after a forward pass, the scrum puts eight players of the two teams head to head, shoulder against shoulder. The scrum half of the no guilty team introduces the ball in a tunnel betwenn the two teams. The hooker tries to touch the ball with his foot and make it roll out.
c)The tackle :
To stop the ball carrier, we must tackle him. The opponent can be held anywhere on the body except the throat and the face (high tackle) then you make him fall. The tackled player must immediatly release the ball or pass the ball for the play to go on. If he doesn’t, there will be a penalty try.
d)The 15 players and their part :
In front we find the pack (the strong ones) : they have to break into the opponent’s half. You can find 2 prop forwards, one hooker, two second-rows, 2 third-rows placed on the side and a center third row. Behind we find the three quarters ; they use moves and often run fast to take their opponents by surprise.
We also find a scrum half and a stand off half, two three quarter enters two three quarter wing and a fullback.

A receipe
Recipe of the Quiche Lorraine
Ingredients
1 roller of puff pastry
3 eggs
30 cl of « fresh cream »
25 cl of milk
300 grams of chopped bacon
150 grams of grated Swiss cheese
Salt, pepper
Equipment :
1 Salad bowl
1 whip
1 pie plate
For the pastry:
170 g plain four
85 g unsalted butter
To make the pastry, sift the flour into a large mixing bowl. Rub in the butter, using your fingertips, until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Stir in enough ice-cold water to make a soft but not sticky dough. Wrap in ding film and chill for 10 minutes. Set the oven at 180C°. Roll the chilled pastry out on a lightly floured work surface to a large circle and line the tin. Lightly prick the pastry, and bake “blind” for 15 minutes. Leave to cool.
Take bacon and fry in very hot frying pan then drain, in a sieve remove the fat having melted, the purpose being to bring out more flavour.
Take the salad bowl and break 3 eggs there then pour the « fresh cream » over the eggs.
Mix eggs and the fresh cream with the whip.
Add the salt and the pepper.
Put bacon over the precooked pastry in a harmonious and regular way then pour the egg mixture over the bacon.
Sprinkle in a regular way the Quiche with the Swiss cheese.
Put in preheated oven (180°C). At the end of 25 minutes, prick with a knife the Quiche to check if it’s ready.
Enjoy !
The “Arenes” of Metz
Two years after the fire of the old Sport Center of Metz, the “Arenes” is built in 2001. It was conceived by the architect Paul Chemetov. This building was built on the old Roman amphitheater. It’s a modern building situated in the east of the town in “Quartier de l’amphitheatre”. It’s a fabulous place if you want to have a nice walk along the river with the park linking the swimming pool and the sports center.
It’s a sports complex, where can welcome national or international sport and art, event like music and festival. In the Arenes you can pratise a lot of sports like gymnastics, handball, dance… This is also a place of meetings. October, we can see the Open of Moselle (a tennis competition) during two weeks, and in December the world competition of Handball for girls. We can go to the “Arenes” to look some shows of celebrities like Dany Boon….
The building can welcome 4500 visitors to look matches and support their teams. There are three levels in this building and the “Arenes” measure 16 580 m2.
